Creative Awards... Do they matter?

Bowhaus' recent accolades made me think about awards and their importance in the creative industry. The MilkBoy Coffee logo and MilkBoy Philly logo will be featured in Logos 1, an ebook from renown author David E. Carter. Over the years, Bowhaus has submitted to various award shows, contests and books both local and nationally.

We are proud of our work and love the recognition, but does this matter to our clients? People have many opinions about awards... It's a love hate thing. In my experience, some clients really value their agency winning awards and being published, while others think it is just a waste of time and money. At times, creative folk can become a bit competitive about winning. Let's face it, designer's enjoy seeing their work published!

My feeling is awards and publications are just another way to validate the creative work an agency is doing. It's about raising awareness for your products and/or services - And that's not a bad thing.

Please see our creative process in creating award-winning work... Sketches, logo variations, concepts, reference materials, etc.
